1st Men

Wednesday - Rowed Over, Still 13th in Div 1

With Pembroke bumping Magdalene out in under 50 strokes, Emma were left to row over with an aggressive Clare in the chasing. But the 1st men having been well prepared for this settled on to a controlled rhythm, letting Clare burn themselves out (not without giving the spectators something to get excited about). This leaves the First men in a strong position for Thursday's racing, chasing a weak Magdalene first VIII.

Thursday - Bumped Magdelene, now 12th in Div 1

1st Women

Wednesday - Rowed Over, Still 3rd in Div 1

A brilliant row left Caius without any real chance throughout the race, and with switching of the headship in front, the First Ladies achieved everything that was asked of them. They will chase Jesus on Thursday.

2nd Men

Wednesday - Bumped Queens' II, Now 14th in Div 2

The second men, rowing below their usual high standards, were helped in their success by the loss of a Girton rudder causing their cox to take a wide corner around Grassy Corner. The Queens' cox mistakenly followed in pursuit of a bump, and although Girton missed the bank by a hair, Queens' collided with the hard stuff, leaving Emma to quickly follow up for the bump.

2nd Women

Wednesday - Bumped by Jesus II, now 6th in Div 2

Being chased by yet another strong Jesus boat, Emmanuel fought hard but were unable to hold off the challenge.

3rd Men

Wednesday - Bumped Downing III, now 13th in Div 3

A Downing crab aided Emma in getting what looked to be an inevitable bump.

3rd Women

Wednesday - OVERBUMPED Fitzwilliam II, now 13th in Div 4

Perhaps being spurred on by the success of the 4th Women earlier in the day (who started this only two places behind as sandwich boat), the 3rd Women outclassed their opponents for the overbump.

4th Men

Wednesday - Bumped by Jesus VI, now 7th in Div 6

Despite a good performance in the getting on races, the rugby boys were unable to hold off a strong Jesus challenge

Thursday - Rowed Over, still 7th in Div 6

4th Women

Wednesday - OVERBUMPED Girton III to sandwich boat in Division 5, then bumped Clare III, now 17th in Div 4

The best result of the day for Emmanuel, the Rugby Ladies pulled in Girton from their huge lead, before rowing again in the 4th division to bump Clare down to sandwich boat.

1st Men

Wednesday - Bumped by Clare, now 13th in Div 1

Thursday - Bumped Clare, now 12th in Div 1

In a rare "Bump back", Emma M1 got their first May Bump for 4 years, having cashed in on an unfortunate jesus ejector crab (again!?) by having the row of their lives. Also denied Pembroke M1 of their blades at the same time.

Friday - Rowed over, still 12th in Div 1

Unable to chase down the determined Jesus M1 before they got their inevitable bump on a struggling Magdelene M1.

Saturday - Bumped by Pembroke, now 13th in Div 1

A Pembroke crew out for revenge for being denied blades earlier in the week were taking no prisoners. Emma M1 were unable to take out Magdelene M1 in time.

1st Men

Wednesday - Bumped by Queens, now 9th in Div 1

Depsite one of the best starts we've had and some of our best rowing this term, we were simply being chased by a faster crew. Keep your heads up for today boys.

Thursday - Bumped by Magdalene, now 10th in Div 1

Friday - Bumped by Churchill, now 11th in Div 1

Saturday - Bumped by Jesus, now 12th in Div 1

1st Women

Wednesday - Bumped Newnham, now Head of Div 1

After 4 years in 2nd place, we were fired up to get revenge on Newnham for 2003. Not having raced the crews around us for some time, we didn't know what to expect from Pembroke behind or Newnham ahead. So we just focussed in on our goal and went for it.
We closed in on them gradually at first, Emma steered a good line into Ditton and then ground them down from there, hitting them somewhere before the railings. Where exactly, I'm not sure - it was all a bit of a blur!!!

Thursday - Rowed Over, still Head of Div 1

Friday - Rowed Over, still Head of Div 1

Saturday - Rowed Over, still Head of Div 1

2nd Men

Wednesday - Bumped by Wolfson, now 8th in Div 2

Alas, it wasn't to be on the first day. Lined up in front of a neat but not especially fast LMBC II, we knew we stood a chance of a bumping. With our starting position under the bridge, deafeningly close to the cannon, we always knew we were going to be shocked into a good start and good it was.

Down to a length by First-Post corner, all was going well and suddenly we seemed to lose our rhythm. Labouring around First-Post Corner, suddenly Wolfson, whom we'd left in our wake, appeared from nowhere. Through the gut, the usually reliable up-4 call didn't really make much of a change and we were finally bumped on Grassy Corner. A disappointing start but we know we can do a lot better and are going to be going off blisteringly fast on Thursday!

Thursday - Bumped by Corpus I, now 9th in Div 2

Friday - Bumped by CCAT, now 10th in Div 1

Saturday - Bumped by Cats II, now 11th in Div 1

2nd Women

Wednesday - Bumped CCAT, now 4th in Div 2

A good start saw us grinding CCAT down to a length by first post.
Unfortunately Robinson flew off the start behind and were also closing in.
By grassy things were looking bleak with us 3/4 of a length down on CCAT and Binson only a canvas away. But taking advantage of the questionable line taken by the boat in front we took a huge chunk out of their lead and in plough reach had overlap both ends. 10 adrenaline filled strokes and we made the bump about half a second before getting hit ourselves. The verdict - as close as it gets but a bump nonetheless. roll on the first division!

Thursday - Rowed Over, still 4th in Div 2

Friday - Bumped Peterhouse, now 3rd in Div 2

Saturday - Rowed Over, still 3rd in Div 2

3rd Men

Wednesday - Rowed Over, now 16th in Div 3

Thursday - Bumped Fitz II, now 15th in Div 3

Friday - Rowed Over, now 15th in Div 3

Saturday - Rowed Over, now 15th in Div 3

3rd Women

Wednesday - Bumped Trinity Hall III , now 15th in Div 4

Having had a technical rowover forced upon them in Lents, the 3rd Ladies set off determined to ensure such a thing did not happen again. So we got a rerow instead. Having come within half a length of Trinity Hall 3, our fantastic chase was cut short by some top class spannering as is generally the way in the lower divisions. After a brief discussion, it was decided that we could rerow against Hall at 8pm that evening. Which we duly did, bumping them on First Post Corner after a pretty similar race.

Thursday - Bumped Clare III , now 14th in Div 4

Friday - Bumped Kings II, now 13th in Div 4

Saturday - Rowed Over, now 13th in Div 4

4th Men

Wednesday - Rowed Over, now 11th in Div 5

Thursday - Overbumped by Christs IV, now 14th in Div 5

Friday - Bumped by Caius V, now 15th in Div 5

Saturday - Bumped by Clare IV, now 16th in Div 5
