Lent Bumps 2008 saw an excellent performance from Emmanuel Boat Club. The second women achieved their blades, and the first women were within a canvas of the headship.

In a generally very successful year for EBC in the may bumps, the 2nd Men managed to repeat what they did in the lents and earn their oars, never rowing past grassy to prove themselves easily of 1st division standards. The 3rd women also earned their blades, pushing them ever closer to the 3rd division.
Following on from their fastest 2nd boat performance at the Head of the Cam last week, where they beat many college first boat entries, the 2nd men went on this weekend to win the Novice VIII category at Poplar regatta. This is the second year in a row that the EBC 2nd Men have won the event, and a good sign of things to come for the bumps!
Ben Thomas from EBC this week won the Bushe Fox Freshman sculls at the CUCBC small boats regatta. Two other EBC boats also made it to the finals in their events.
Congratulations to Rebecca Dowbiggin and Jake Cornelius, both Emmanuel College students, who were part of this year's winning Cambridge Blue Boat in the annual Boat Race against Oxford.
Both the 2nd Men, and the 2nd Women achieved their blades, both earning them on the Saturday by bumping the corresponding Darwin First Boat! 
Emma W1 won the WS3 VIII's event at this years bedford head, beating numorous other Cambridge colleges who attended, placing joint 94th overall. The men put in two consistenly good rows to be placed 25th.
