4th February – Bründlmayer

Venue – Upper Hall, Peterhouse

Speaker – Thomas Klinger, Export Manager

Willi Bründlmayer is one of Austria’s leading lights, gaining consistently excellent reviews from critics the world over.  Among the highlights of tonight’s tasting are, if you like Robert Parker’s 100-point system, a 90-point sparkling wine (the Brut Vintage Sekt 2004), or, if like Hugh Johnson, you don’t, “Austria’s best Sekt”.  That, of course, is only for starters, and we will be tasting a snapshot of the entire range, including some top Grüner Veltliners and Rieslings, some sweeter styles, and even some reds.
