8th May –– Luis Pato Wines

Luis Pato has been described in the ‘World Atlas of Wine’ as, “the most dynamic producer in Bairrada”, one of Portugal’s longest established wine regions.   He is largely responsible, directly and indirectly, for the huge developments taking place in this region, bringing the winemaking techniques up to date while retaining the traditional character.   Rather than planting the same international varieties you can find almost anywhere in the world, he sticks to traditional grapes, such as Bairrada’s indigenous Baga grape.   This promises to be an extremely interesting tasting from an Old World region currently undergoing a revolution.
