2nd May – ‘Everyday
Bordeaux’
A tasting on behalf of the CIVB (conseil interprofessionnel du vin de
Bordeaux, the professional organisation representing the Bordeaux wine
industry). Bordeaux is the largest fine wine-making region in the
world (with 284,320 acres of AOC vines) as well as one of the most
legendary.
Its reputation is built mostly on red wines, especially those from the Médoc,
Saint Emilion and Pomerol. However, Bordeaux wine is not confined to
reds; in fact there are a wide range of excellent wines, from crisp whites
from Entre-deux-Mers to sweet wines from Sauternes. The wines being
sampled are taken from the Everyday Bordeaux 2006 selection; these are all
wines that have won a Decanter ‘World Wine Award.’
