The Cambridge University Wine Society
The Cambridge University Wine Society holds a number of tastings each
term. We aim to bring you wines from all over the world, and cater for
lovers of everything from port to champagne. The majority of tastings are
conducted by region, and will include a range of wines from the
inexpensive to the vintage. Tastings are hosted by experts or by the more
experienced members of the society.
Whether you are an experienced taster who wishes to add to his knowledge,
or a complete beginner who would like to know more about wine than can be
gleaned from the back of a bottle, we have plenty to offer you. Most
tastings will give you the opportunity not only to try something a little
out of the ordinary, but also to note one or two affordable wines for day
to day drinking.
The highlight of our calendar is the
Annual Dinner, an exquisite meal
served with a series of excellent wines. This is traditionally held in the
Lent term.
Other annual events include the summer term's garden party - there's no
finer way to restart yourself after Suicide Sunday than with an afternoon
of champagne and strawberries - guaranteed to chase the hangover away!
