With real pressure on the team to perform in this pool match, Cambridge faced Dublin, who, having lost narrowly to Loughborough earlier, looked to be playing the best volleyball in the group. Again Cambridge relied on UCD to make their points until a run of consistent service from Cinzia allowed Wendy and Jill to optimise from better sets and make attack kills. The Blues cover from the stronger Dublin attack was unable to minimise the damage inflicted by the strong UCD number 8. A deterioration of the Cambridge serve receive meant that the setters were never getting to the second ball and the Dublin team easily covered the Cambridge tip attack. An up hill battle from the start, Cambridge were never allowed to get into the match and the better UCD team won. Report by Jon Clarke
