In contrast to the "family reunion" form of volleyball where
all the players stand stock still on court and occasionally wave at the
ball if it comes within arm's reach of them, real volleyball actually
involves a tremendous amount of movement around the court. There a number
of different systems that teams use to defend all of the 81 square meters
of court, and this guide explains the simplest and probably the most
common. More advanced systems all follow the same basic ideas, so it's
well worth getting to grips with!
