***Varsity Match ***

Cambridge play Oxford in a one-off fixture as part of the annual Varsity Games. The match always attracts a large number of supporters from both universities, and recent years have seen Cambridge the dominant team. The venue alternates between Cambridge and Oxford - this year the Light Blues will travel to Oxford as they attempt to add to their four wins in succession.

***EVA Student Cup ***

The English Volleyball Association organises this tournament, open to all British universities. Cambridge Men's volleyball team peaked at the right time as they secured the first trophy in the history of Cambridge volleyball by winning the 2002 EVA Student Cup at Leeds University. Their memorable triumph came after two days of gruelling competition which saw the Blues win six matches and concede only a single set in the whole tournament, and their achievement was capped by the personal success of outside hitter Andy Lynn, who won the tournament Most Valuable Player award. ***BUSA Championship ***

This is a tournament organised by the British Universities Sports Association, and involves essentially the same teams as the EVA Student Cup. As usual, the Blues have been placed in the Midlands Conference along with five other universities (Loughborough, Coventry, Oxford, Birmingham and Warwick). We play each of these teams home and away - a total of ten matches - throughout the first two terms (see the Calendar). The top four teams from this Conference will progress to the last 16 knock-out phase of the Championship. In 2002 The Blues won this Championship (full report), and were therefore asked to represent the UK in the European University Volleyball Championships in Athens, Greece (more).

The dates of Blues' training and matches can be found in the Calendar.
