CUVC is currently the University's most successful sports club. The Men's and Women's Blues have consistently ranked in the top four Universities in the country and have represented Great Britain at the European University Championships in Serbia, Greece and Slovenia. Both teams have taken silver medals at the BUSA Championships and the EVA Student Cup on more than one occasion. The Men's Blues have also completed a rare BUSA and EVA Cup double win in 2001-2. The Men's Blues have won the majority of the Varsity matches over Oxford, whereas the Women's Blues have a 50% record over recent years.
The club caters for all levels of player, with second teams playing in regional leagues and beginners teams entered into a local league. The emphasis of the club is on enjoyment, both sporting and social, and our friendly coaches help anyone learn the basics or improve their game. Whatever your standard, we have a team to suit you! Men Through to BUSA Finals
In a draw straight out of A Confederacy of Dunces, Cambridge were drawn against ULU, two top teams with title hopes. A scrappy match did not see the best of either side, but the Blues prevailed 3-1 after a shaky start.
2008 Varsity Matches
Both Blues teams travelled to Iffley Road for the 2008 Varsity matches. The Men were up first and defended their run of past victories with little opposition from the Oxford men. The Women were ranked as underdogs, but fought to a 2-1 lead, eventually succumbing 2-3 after a 5 set thriller.
