Well done guys - I told you you would get past London! We struggled with Bristol, who had Peter Wanyonje and Dami Bakare playing for them, and lost 3-1. Good luck at finals.

i don't know of any colleges who play regularly, possibly darwin, and there are more important criteria for selecting your college. in any case your best bet will be to try out for the university first or second teams if you want regular training and matches.

Hey guys, I plan to apply for a graduate study in Social and Politics Science. But I can not live without volleyball although I'm not professional, so is there anybody can give me some suggestion that which college could be the best choice for me if I wanna play volleyball frequently! Thank you guys, wish you a good holiday!

Well guys, just to let you know - Oxford managed to beat Bridgend 3-1 on Tuesday, securing ourselves a spot in division 2 next year. Looks like OUVC and CUVC will be clashing at least 5 times in 2007-2008 (on the men's side alone)!

Yo dudes, in response the mention of the civil service tournament. I will probably not be playing for Eng Uni's as Kitlocker enters a team, this year maybe two. Its a team of good volleyball players who get on and have fun. If you any of you might be available let me know? Wardy x

Thanks to Adam and Wardy for the congratulations. By contrast, here's the EVA verdict:
"In the end English Universities completed a double win!"
Anyway, we enjoyed all of our matches, and the quality of play in the England-Scotland match was very good too, which made for some good watching.

Some chinese whispers going on, I'm guessing.
What happened (to the best of my knowledge) was that one of our players was unhappy about some of the calls made by a ref during the Scotland/England match. He spoke to the ref about it, who seemed both during and after the conversation pretty relaxed about it. Lenny was quite unhappy because he felt that Oxbridge players were hassling the refs. That wasn't our intention in any way, and we offered our apologies to the ref involved immediately afterwards. Bit of a storm/teacup situation, I think.
see you on the beaches, guys.

Our problem wasn't about not taking any silverware home, it was the way in which we were approached about a certain (irrelevant) incident. However, tempers are often high at a given moment, and I believe there was no insult intended by any party. However, acknowledgement, rather than abuse, would have gone a long way.

Firstly I would like to congratulate the Oxbrdige team on winning all their games at the weekend, you guys got your tactics spot on and played well in some close games.
Although I must add you guys were a guest team and always knew the outcome if you were to win all the games, if you had a problem with that then why enter the tournament. If you wanted to win the home Nations come to the English Unis trial, I personally would have loved to of played along side some of the quality in the Cambridge or Oxford side.

Hi Denis/Oxbridge boys,
I had know idea that anything happened yesterday before the presentations. Was great to play you guys as always and Denis awesome to see you still haven't lost your touch. The court looks bloody small when i'm trying to serve and avoid serving on you!! I still hope one day i'll get to play in the same team as you and Brian.....looks like fun!! Maybe you can have Oxbridge plus 1 next year? ;) Well played to all you boys at that the weekend. Keep in touch (Facebook.com!!!) Wardy x x x

I will be the first to say that over the weekend (17-18 March 2007) the joint student Oxbridge team WON the Home Nations tournament (best students in different coutries) winning every single match there! Unfortunatly, the organisers decided not to acknowledge this and kick us for no reason out of the hall before the prize ceremony. No prizes obviously as you could understand. Must say I have never seen this before in any country I played in... Oh well, get used to the English volleyball way. Fortunately mother Russia taught me not to care about this. There, we use different methods available to us to deal with that kind of behaviour.
My congratulations and best regards to the Welsh ladies, Scottish teams, Irish (including N Irleland obviously) and Welsh boys for supporting us and making this a really fun tournament! Wardy, you did you a great player doing a great job for Enland. Best of luck to you in the future, buddy!
Special congratualtions to Scottish boys for showing outstanding volleyball.
As for Cambridge boys - it was a priveledge and a pleasure to play with you! Thank you.
