Varsity Games - 2004 Results:

The 32nd Varsity Games trampoline match took place on enemy turf (i.e. Oxford) on Saturday the 28th February.

Events kicked off with the B-team competition. I was first up to compete, and you could really feel the tension. Solid performances by all of the competitors saw the competition turn out to be a very close run thing. In the end, Oxford pipped us to victory by a mere 0.3 points!

The C-team competition followed. A fantastic performance by the light blues saw Cambridge students take first, second, third and fourth places in the overall standings. So we went into the A-team competition with everything still to play for...

Despite a wonderful display by Andres and a surprisingly neat routine by Alastair, Oxford took the title in the advanced category, hence all of the Varsity points and the cup. There were some tough decisions for the judges to make, but yet another truly impressive performance by Dan and a beautiful pair of routines by Elaine clinched it for the dark blues.

And so, after a tasty curry and a little wander around the city itself, we left Oxford tired and empty handed, but everyone had good fun, which is what counts. Next year the games return to Cambridge, and it could be anyone's match!
