About CUTAZZ

|
CUTAZZ has
been an extremely fast-growing society. Since it was established, it has
moved from running three classes - advanced and beginners tap, and jazz -
to its current array of classes, which also encompass lyrical and street. The
first show was joint with the ballet society and took place in the Fitz
auditorium. The first and only night was completely sold out. From
there the society went from strength to strength, introducing intermediate tap,
and intermediate and beginners jazz. The second production included a matinee
performance as well as the evening show, and CUTAZZ began to diversify
its activities, appearing at the Grafton Centre for Children in Need,
and performing at the Selwyn Snow Ball. This
expansion soon required more committee members, so to the original positions of
President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, today's current
positions were also added. The
annual show of 2008 was 'Staged', which ran at the ADC. The two
shows since have been at the Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin
University. 2010's 'Shine' was a huge success, with over 750
tickets sold and almost 100 dancers taking part. The
society is entirely student-run, with an enthusiastic committee
dedicated to ensuring that everything is running smoothly!
Classes are taken by a mixture of professional and student teachers and
are held mostly in rooms within the colleges of the university. |
