We will have a presence at the university’s fresher’s fairs at Cambridge and UEA. Those students who are at ARU and are interested will be able to find us at the Cambridge fresher's fair.

At the Cambridge URNU stand, you will be able to register your interest and meet current members of our unit, who can provide you with an insight into the unit's activities, and discuss their experiences, and events in which they have partaken.

Following the fresher’s fair, the initial applications are used to invite interested individuals are invited to an meet and greet either in Norwich or at the Unit in Cambridge. These are informal events, and provide the opportunity for you to meet the staff and other students who together make up CURNU, and find out more about the workings of the URNU through presentations and Q&A sessions.

At the end of the evening, if you are still interested in membership, you will be invited to put yourself forward for formal interview. The interview will be conducted with our Commanding Officer.

Successful candidates will be formally invited to join the unit subject to passing a basic medical and security check.

If you are interested in joining, and miss us at the fresher’s fairs, don’t worry, you can still apply to join by contacting us.

Note that in order to be considered a candidate, you must:
Be physically fit and capable of swimming 50 metres unaided
Be enrolled on a university course at Cambridge University, UEA or ARU
Be a British subject, Commonwealth subject or a citizen of the Irish Republic and have been resident in the UK for five years with indefinite leave to remain.
