CUET First Team 2016-2017:

Susannah Boddie

1st Team Captain

Hi, I’m Susannah and I am going into my second year of Nat Sci at Trinity Hall. I have loved being a member of the CUET first team this last year and being part of such a successful light blue campaign.

Previously I have evented up to BE Intermediate/ 1* level and show jumped up to Foxhunter with my horse Corfu. I have enjoyed success at various championships along the way, with a highlight being placed 7th in the Novice National Championships at The Festival of British Eventing. I took a gap year to focus on riding being a working pupil for a professional 3* eventer which I absolutely loved but did make coming to University quite a shock. Being a part of CUET has really helped to fill the gap between competing my horse at home during the holidays.

I am really excited to Captain this team for the coming year.

Kate Branley

Hi, I’m Kate and I’m a second year Natsci at Newnham. I’ve been riding since I was 5 and started off doing all Pony Club activities. My first horse, Charlie, was a 4yo who I brought on to event at 1m/PC Novice Area level and Novice dressage. When I finally decided my love was actually dressage I had to sell him as his dressage abilities were limited! My current horse is a 6yo warmblood cross, called Bunny (he’s a boy and his name is a long story!!), who I have owned for 18months. We compete at British Dressage (and jump a little bit!) and this year we competed at the BD Winter National Championships in the Novice Area Festival Championship as well as the Pony Club National Championships. We have made our BD Medium debut and are training towards Medium/Advanced Medium level. Having competed for the Second team last year I am really excited to spend another year as part of CUET.

Holly Mason

Hi I’m Holly and I am going into my third ear studying Geography at St John’s. I have been an active member of CURC for two years now; competing for the CUET Seconds in my first year and captaining CUET last year.

Previously I have evented up to BE Novice level with my horse Molly, as well as doing all Pony Club teams up to Open level over the last 6 years. Eventing and team chasing Molly also somewhat developed a need for speed, and I spend most of my holidays riding out racehorses. I was also lucky enough to ride in and actually win(!) the Varsity Horse Race last year on Hughie Morrison’s Realt Na Mara.

Clark Glasgow

I have ridden horses since I was 12 years old, first competing in 3 Day Eventing and then changing to Show Jumping as my specialty when I was 16. I was lucky enough to compete for Great Britain at U21 level, and won the British National Championships in 2015. I have competed in three varsity matches, two of them successful.
