On Sunday 24th November CURC had its annual dressage competition where each competitor rode a Preliminary, Novice or Elementary test. We achieved the best turn out in years of 18 people and the atmosphere this provided really made the day. The day started with (our team captain) Alice Watson and Clark Glasgow demonstrating how dressage tests should be ridden, by riding two excellent Elementary tests and setting the standard for the day. Thanks to the horses getting into the spirit of the event
and performing to their best, everyone rode brilliantly. And thanks to Harvey deciding the shed wasn’t going to eat him today and Fern choosing not to bite any competitors the day passed without incident. Now if the weather could have been as on form as the horses we might not have needed to huddle inside from the rain and wind.
Well done to Lindsey for riding the best test of the day on Fern. Similar congratulations to Hayley for best Novice test and Tamsin for best Preliminary test. However cuppers is always a team competition and we all wanted to know which college fielded the best riders in the club. Big congratulations to the winners of cuppers 2013: joint Newnham and Darwin team consisting of Trisna, Penelope, Tess and Hayley.
