The CUMPC committee has the role of organising training, competitions and social activitites for the members of the club. We hope to provide for everyone no matter what your level of ability or commitment with the main aim of producing a strong team for the prestigious Varsity Match held each year at Easter.
President
The President is responsible for the overall running of the club.
President for 2011-2012 is Bradley Dixon (Trinity).
Senior Treasurer
The Senior Treasurer for 2011-2012 is Alison Schwabe (Vet. School)
Captains
The Captains are responsible for preparing and selecting a team for the annual Varsity match and other competitions.
Gentlemen's Captain for 2011-2012 is Josh Radvan (St Catharine's).
Ladies Captain for 2011-2012 is Emma Byatt (Jesus).
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for keeping the club accounts in order.
Treasurer for 2011-2012 is Cat Stokowska (Jesus).
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for helping the President to run the club effectively.
Secretary for 2011-2012 is Ben Baker (St John's).
Social Secretary
The Social Secretary has the responsiblity of ensuring the members club are well trained in the 6th and 7th events. It is their job to orgainise weekly socials for the club sometimes with other university sports teams as well as formal Pentathlon dinners.
Social Secretary for 2011-2012 is Katia Knight (Newnham)
Kit Secretary
The Kit Secretary is responsible for ensuring the club kit and equipment are in good repair as well as organising stash for members of the club.
Kit Secretary for 2010-2011 is Vin Shen Ban (Christ's).
Old Blues liason
Old Blues liason officer is responsible for maintaining links with the old blues network and organising the annual Old Blues competition.
Old Blues Liason for 2011-2012 is Laura Plant (St. John's)
Website manager
The Website manager is required to update the CUMPC website regularly with news and results.
Publicity
The Publicity officer is require to write articles reporting on pentathlon competitions for the website, TCS and Varsity.
Swimming Officer
The Swimming Officer for 2011-2012 is Henny Dillon (St Catharine's)
Shooting Officer
The Shooting Officer for 2011-2012 is David Firth (Trinity)
Running Officer
The Running Officer for 2011-2012 is Matthew Elliot (Trinity)
1) Objectives
The objectives of the club are to promote, encourage and administer Modern Pentathlon (fencing, pistol shooting, swimming, running and riding or any combination thereof) at all levels.
The club shall (among its other activities);
a) seek the largest possible student membership, and provide the opportunities and facilities for them to train in the events of Modern Pentathlon;
b) select, organise and train Varsity teams;
c) maintain a sound financial situation.
2) Officers
The officers of the club (all of whom shall act in an honorary capacity only) shall be:
a) President

Senior Treasurer (to be a member of the Senate)
Junior Treasurer
Secretary
b) Committee members without portfolio;
c) Honorary posts as deemed appropriate by the current committee.
3) Membership
Student membership is available to all members of Cambridge University only and entitles the member to:-
a) attend all club training session,
b) compete for CUMPC in any competitions for which they are eligible,
c) stand and vote on incoming posts at the club AGM
Associate membership is also available to all non members of Cambridge University and entitles the member to:-
a) attend all club training sessions,
b) compete for CUMPC in any competitions for which they are leigible:-
i) If entering open competitions as an individual they will entered under the auspices of CUMPC (associate/old blue)
ii) In the case of team competitions associates may enter as an associate team
iii) In the event of insufficient numbers to form a uniquely student or associate team a mixed team may be formed to compete as the lowest ranked student team.
Students may gain membership of the club by paying an annual subscription fee. Associates may gain membership by paying an elevated subscription fee subject to their being considered suitable by the committee. Suitability to be confirmed by a unanimous committee decision:
i) Not for established pentathletes other than full blues,
ii) For old blues although they will be encouraged to join SLOBs and to be active in promoting that club,
iii) For individuals who would otherwise not be able to participate in the sport,
iv) For honorary committee members.
