About the Cambridge University International Development Society (CUiD)
Our mission is to provide a non-partisan platform to raise awareness of international development issues and to promote their open discussion. CUiD aims to motivate students to discuss, debate and take action on issues in international development, such as poverty, global helath, climate change, and education- to name a few. We do this by organising speaker events, panel discussions, and open debates which stimulate dialogue between students, academics and development professionals from both developed and developing countries, and which encourage students to question assumptions and opinions.
Our termly magazine, Vision, provides another platform on which students can explore issues that interest them and voice their views. We are a member of the Humanitarian Centre and the Cambridge Hub and are also a founding member of the U8 Global Student partnership for development.
