Be part of it...
If you are interested in running and you are starting at Cambridge
University in 2006-2007, whether you will be an undergraduate, postgraduate, post-doc, or professor, this page is for you. You could come to
Cambridge and have a pretty good time. You study hard but go out and enjoy yourself. All the conventional things you'd expect from your University
experience. Or you could have all this but make your time here truly memorable by getting involved with the Cambridge University Hare and Hounds.
Hopefully this website will give you an idea of what's on offer but it cannot do the experience justice. It's intangible. You have to experience it
to find out. So come and be part of one of the oldest and best running clubs in the world. |
Reading the FAQ may answer many of your questions but if you have any more please get in touch with
the Club Captain whose contact details can be found here. In fact we would like to hear from you anyway.
Just drop us a quick email telling us about yourselves. |
Also seriously consider coming on the week-long September training camp. It would be the
best way to meet members of CUH&H and a great start to your time at
Cambridge University. Many freshers have done this in the past and have really enjoyed it. Freshers' Week takes place from Monday 2nd to
Sunday 8th October 2006. There will be some kind of running session on every day. All will be posted up on the training
page. Other events include... |
TUESDAY 3rd October & WEDNESDAY 4th October: Fresher's Fair, Kelsy
Kerridge Come and find our stall at the fair which takes place in the main Kelsy Kerridge sports hall. Meet some committee members, find

Wednesday 4th October: 10.00am - 5.00pm.
SUNDAY 8th October: Freshers' Fun Run, Wilberforce Road Pavilion The Freshers' Fun Run is as competitive as you make it. There will be
prizes for the first three male and female freshers. It is a chance to show what you can do. It is also always fun. The run, entirely on road, is
the first event in the Chris Brasher College League.
Men's Distance: 5.2km
Women's Distance: 2.8km
Registration is from 2.30pm. The ladies' race starts at 3.30pm and the men set off 5 minutes later. If you would like to take
part, either contact your college rep, who organises teams, or just turn up on the
day. After the race there will be tea and cakes served in the pavilion. Here you will be able to meet the two captains and the
committee. You will be able to join CUH&H, find out more about what's going on
during the Michaelmas Term, and also buy kit.
