Histon (Railway) Run
Come out of St John's P'lodge and turn right.
Go along Trinity Street until just after Hobbs Sports.
Turn right and follow the road round to the left after about 100m.
Turn right (signed towards the river) and go over the bridge over the Cam.
Keep going to the traffic lights at Queens Road.
Go straight over and past the side of the UL (for about 300m).
Take the right fork in the path, down a slight dip over a burn, and up to a cross roads.
Go straight over at the lights and straight down Adams Road.
At the end of the road (next to the Athletics Track) go straight over along a cycle path (towards Coton).
Follow this cycle path (sharp left and right) until you get to the motorway (M11) (about 1 mile from leaving the road).
Take the footbridge across the motorway and keep following the path into the centre of Coton (another 0.5 miles).
At the junction (Pub on the right) go straight on (now on main road).
At the next junction off the road, turn left, and continue along this road until you get to the primary school on right (about 300m).
Turn right immediately after the school along a footpath (follow hedge on the school side)
Follow this footpath past the school and up a slight hill through the middle of some fields.
Follow the footpath through a thinner part after the fields until you get to a main road.
Turn left along this road past the entrance to the American Cemetry (about 200 yds).
Turn right down a footpath just after the cemetry.
Follow this path until it reaches another road (about 400m).
Turn left along the road and run for about 50m before turning right down a track (through a gate).
Follow this track through about 2 fields until you reach another gate and some trees.
Go through the gate and follow the track straight on over a bridge over the motorway.
Come down off the bridge and follow the track straight on under an underpass utill you get to a slip road.
Cross the road and go straight on along a tarmaced track to meet the A14.
Carefully cross the whole road and take a left along the pavement.
After about 200 yds go right through some railings along an old road.
Follow this path until it turns into a proper road (about 0.5 miles).
Follow this road into the middle of Girton village.
Turn left at the junction with the main road (effectively straight on).
Follow the main road through the village and keep going without turning off.
Follow this road for about 1.5 miles after Girton village passing one road off to the right.
The road goes into a residential area again (Oakington).
At the cross roads, turn right and follow this road out of the village (for about 1 mile).
Keep going until you cross a disused level crossing.
Just after crossing the railway, turn right through a gate into a field.
Follow the footpath through this field, through another gate and through the next field (following a didtch part of the way).
When the path turns in to more of a track, bear right accross the stream and come to a gate onto a road.
Turn left along the road (effectively straight on).
Follow this road for about 600m (ignore lots of little roads going off to the the right).
Just after the road does a big turn to the left, turn right.
Turn right at the next junction (after about 100m).
Follow this road for about 200m. At the next junction, bear right (this is the middle of Histon).
Follow this road for about 1.5 miles, crossing over the old railway again.
When this road comes to an end there is a big bend round to the left.
Follow this bend round to the left until you reach a set of traffic lights (T junction).
Turn right at the traffic lights up the road to the roundabout above the motorway (follow signs to Cambridge).
Follow the pavement around the roundabout so that you go straight on.
Follow the road you are now on for 2 miles into the centre of Cambridge until it ends at a set of traffic lights (next to old garage on corner).
At these lights turn right and immediately left down the main road.
Follow the hill down (Castle Hill) and go straight across at the cross roads.
Go down Magdelene street across the Cam and straight on until you get to the round church.
Turn right to get to St John's P'lodge.
