welcome
Welcome to the Cambridge University Hare and Hounds (CUH&H) website. The Hare and Hounds is the University's Running Club. Dating back to
pre-1870, CUH&H is one of the oldest running clubs in the world. It is also one of only 12 full-Blue sports clubs in the University and yet in no
way is it elitist: it gives all of its members the opportunity to compete for the University throughout the year. From committed, serious
athletes to beginners and fun-runners, everyone is welcome and a valued member of the team. |

Though primarily a cross-country running club (especially in the winter months), we cater for all aspects of running. In the spring and
summer, many of our athletes focus on the track and compete for Cambridge Uni Athletics Club (CUAC), in middle and long distance track events. Our members also take part in many other disciplines such as road running (including the London Marathon), fell running, orienteering, and triathlon. |
Training arrangements are sent out weekly to our main e-mail list as well as being posted up on the
training pages. So have a look and come along: there is something for everyone. Indeed if competing is
not yet your cup of tea, or you are apprehensive about getting started, also check out beginners'
page. You will see there is plenty on offer for beginners and for those who just like easy running. All standards are welcome in
CUH&H. |
 |
Much goes on besides running: a big part of the Hare and Hounds is the social life. There are weekly pub gatherings allowing everyone to
chill-out with a few tasty beverages. Many other social events are arranged throughout the year that are simply not to be missed. Visit the socials section for more details.
If you like running and will be a Fresher in October you should read more here. Indeed,
I'd be interested to hear from you and you are more than welcome to come to the September Training
Camp. If you are at the stage of thinking about applying to Cambridge then please e-mail me with any questions.

The Hare and Hounds has a long and rich history, packed with stories of personal triumph and heroic performances; of crazy antics and memorable traditions. And at its heart lie the wonderfully enthusiastic and friendly people who bring all this to life through a shared love of running. Anyone who has had the Hare and Hounds experience will know what I mean.
CUH&H is special, so get involved.
Be part of its future. Be part of its history.
