Welcome to CUGS

The Cambridge University German Society is a student-run society at the University of Cambridge, England. According to our constitution, the society exists for the promotion of the understanding and knowledge of all aspects, both past and present, of life in German-speaking countries. We are non-political.

In the recent past, our events included formal halls, garden parties, pub-meetings, a high profile panel discussion, a talk with German diplomats, etc. Large numbers of students and non-students, who are interested in German language and culture, have been attracted by these events. Thus the number of active members has increased to currently about 600.

The society has grown greatly over the last two years and is now ranking among the most active and largest societies in Cambridge. To ensure that the society remains as active as it is now, we need YOU to participate. Why not come along to our meetings and become involved?

Please feel free to contact anyone on the contact list.
