"Fitz Swing: Play"
Released in 2004
From the Musical Director:
"With more style than a Paris catwalk and more charm than a bus-load of leprechauns, Fitz Swing are the ultimate in entertainment. Oozing flair and charisma, it's no surprise that the band has reached its fifth CD and is still going strong. This album - Play - captures just a tiny glimpse of the band's outstanding talent and showcases Fitz Swing doing what we love and what we do best - play.
With a repertoire covering big band music from the forties to the present day, the band has mastered some very challenging music over the last two terms. Some of the scores put up a fight but I hope you'll agree that the band won out in the end. It's been a privilege for me to work with such a talented group and I'm sure that the memories will stay with me forever.
Finally, I am acutely aware of the fact that any success the band may have is due largely to the efforts of the bands previous directors, especially Katie, who was directly responsible for the wonderful musicians I inherited last July. To her, her predecessors as MD, and of course to the band itself, I can only offer my eternal gratitude."
Aidan Sproat,
