FITZ SWING HAS RETURNED! Since we're all students and have exams to study for this might not seem the event of the century. However, the important thing is that the band has taken to the year like an agile and streamlined duck to a remarkably clear and yielding pond. In the race to prepare for the all-important first gig of the year the Fitz fires have been stoked like never before and reading, playing and just plain swinging are at an all-time high.

As the Fitz machine applies the last few drops of oil to its formidable mechanisms, we prepare for the new dawn. This is very exciting for us, which means it is also exciting for YOU. Dancers, boppers, ballers, Hoppers, enthusiasts, would-be mascots, Exalted Princes of wealthy foreign realms, kindly parents, adventurous pandas, we exist to entertain you. Follow your hearts, and hire us for the night.

Fitz Swing Records Again!

Remember those cds? The Fitz Swing ones on your shelf, the ones you collected as soon as you had the pocket money? Well, we miss making them just as much as you miss listening to them, but don't worry! Fitz was delighted to be asked to feature on a new CD collecting all the many forms of music-making to have originated at or around Fitzwilliam college into one appealing bundle. We contributed two tunes which represent our disparate styles and fiery Fitz fervour. No information is yet available on when or where said CD will be available, but we can confirm that it will certainly be worth getting one.

Tour to Spain a SUCCESS

Well, we got there and back without losing anybody, which counts as a success... right? That said, having said goodbye to our pianist so he could pop home for an important recital, we did gain another who decided that flying to Barcelona on 24 hours notice was a matter for laughs. Other notable achievements include the invention of a new art - inscribing insignia into people's chest hair. This was done to a certain saxophonist, who bore the mark 'JAZZ', but it has probably now grown out - shame. This all happened, and more, not to mention delicious free food in authentic back-street red-walled meditteranean cafes, sensational jamming with pros at a hardcore jazz festival, music-making while wandering up the streets, at the insistence of the enthusiastic Spanish man with the camcorder, and... well, maybe we'll upload some photos and more stories soon.
