"Live At The Diamond"

Launched at West Road Concert Hall on Wednesday 8th November 2000

From the Musical Director:

"The Cambridge University 'Fitz' Swing Band has always performed best in front of an audience, so when thoughts turned to producing a CD in 2000, the logical choice was to record a live gig. So for the evenings of 8th and 9th March we packed over a hundred people into Selwyn College's Diamond Room for the culmination of several months of very hard work. This was somewhat unknown territory for all of us, and the thought of having only two chances to get everything perfect was a little daunting.

But everything came together as well as we could have hoped for. The venue was small enough to be intimate, yet large enough to house a fantastic crowd that helped give the playing the energy and impetus it needed. And the band played out of their skins, making the two evenings a real pleasure for us and the audience.
