CHAPLAINCY TO THE UNIVERSITY
The Chaplaincy to University Staff is located at Great St Mary's, the University Church , and Merton Hall Farmhouse on the West Cambridge Site (corner of JJ Thomson Avenue and Madingley Road ). Both locations provide places of encounter and exploration, especially for those working within the University.
The Farmhouse is home to a Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre which provides space for prayer and worship, meetings, study and discussion. Rooms can be booked for specific use by groups and organisations by contacting the Chaplaincy Office (details below).

Regular Services take place at Merton Hall Farmhouse at the following times:
Tuesdays, 1.00 pm – Lunchtime Prayers
- Wednesdays, 9.00 am – Morning Prayers
There are also several prayer groups that meet around the University on a regular basis and new members are always welcome:
Tuesdays in Full Term, 1.00 pm , at Merton Hall Farmhouse
(part of the Lunchtime Prayers)
- The first Thursday of each month, 1.00 pm , at the University Library
- The third Wednesday of each month, 1.00 pm , at Great St Mary's
Dates for the Diary:
Wednesday, 5th October, 10.45 am – Midday , at Merton Hall Farmhouse : Joint Coffee Morning with the University Newcomers and Visiting Scholars Group. All welcome.
- Sunday, 8th October at 6.30 pm , Great St Mary's : A Service for the Beginning of the Academic Year.
- Saturday, 21st October at 7.30 pm , Michaelhouse : “University Challenged!” – Quiz Night in aid of Chaplaincy funds. Refreshments available. £10 per team (4 max).
- Wednesday, 20th December at 3.00 pm , Great St Mary's : University Staff Christmas Carol Service, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
