Award Levels

There are three levels of the Award: Bronze, Silver and Gold, each involving differing commitments to each of the
four Sections (five at Gold Award):

Minimum Periods of Participation:

Gold 18 months 12 months
The term Direct Entrants refers to those entering the Award at Silver or Gold, and who do not hold the previous level of Award i.e. entering Silver having not gained Bronze, or entering Gold having not gained Silver


Minimum Commitments to each Section at Bronze Award Level:
Service Skills Physical Recreation Expeditions
3 months 3 months 3 months Plan, prepare and undertake a 2 day / 1 night venture
All participants must undertake a further 3 months in one of the Service, Skills or Physical Recreation Sections


Minimum Commitments to each Section at Silver Award Level:
Service Skills Physical Recreation Expeditions
6 months One Section for 6 months and the other for 3 months Plan, prepare and undertake a 3 day / 2 night venture
Direct entrants must undertake a further 6 months in either the Service or the longer of the Skills or Physical Recreation Sections


Minimum Commitments to each Section at Gold Award Level:
Service Skills Physical Recreation Expeditions Residential Project
12 months One Section for 12 months and the other for 6 months Plan, prepare and undertake a 4 day / 3 night venture Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights
Direct entrants must undertake a further 6 months in either the Service or the longer of the Skills or Physical Recreation Sections
