Regulation
Our Health and Safety policy is audited by the Cambridge University's PE Department. Their website, which includes a handbook for societies and other general information (which sections and members may well find useful) is available here.
Our Central Safety Policy
The club has a central health and safety policy. This is designed to state the way in which the club as a whole is to manage documents, define precisely who is responsible what health and safety roles and give guidance to sections and members. Everyone should be familiar with it. It is an important document. The policy is available to download here. It is the responsibility of the commodore to ensure the document is kept up-to-date, and that it is implemented throughout the club. Although it is a separate document, it is part of the regulations and can therefore only be altered by the general committee.
Sectional Safety Manuals and Documents
The sections manage the day-to-day health and safety provision for their activities through their own manuals. The system is administered by the sectional Health and Safety officer, who can be contacted through sectional websites below.
Accidents
Accidents deemed reportable under the health and safety policy can be reported using this form. The general committee should always be informed of any accidents requiring medical attention, incidents where any rescue service is called or any other situation where things go wrong. This allows everyone to learn from mistakes and keeps everyone informed.
General queries about health and safety should be directed to the Commodore. Contact details are on the committee page.
