Variety Show 2007 Recruitment Notice (Dance)

Posted date: 16th November 2006 (Thursday)

Dear all,

The Annual Chinese Society Variety Show will be held in mid Feburary in the Lent Term and I am glad to inform you that we will be recruiting dancers for an essential item in the Show!

The theme this years is related to 'alcohol' and the state of delusion and lightness when a person is transversing between soberness and haziness. Different feelings can be elicited by different types of alochol and our dance program will aim to bring out such effects. The proposed types of dances includes slow, and more cultural ones as well as more up-beat hiphop, jazz and contemporary ones. The program is still tentative depending on what kind of dance you all are interested in and the type of dancers we have! Please feel free to contribute into this meaningful and fun part of the show, email me (cysc2@cam.ac.uk) if you have any ideas or questions or would want to participate in choreography or dancing! To prevent disappointment, email me as soon as possible!

No particular requirements for dancers wanted, but it would help if you have had some dance or stage experience. After a list is composed, i will inform u guys of audition dates in the near future. Boys and girls welcomed!

Clara Cheung
Cambridge University Chinese Society

Variety Show 2007 dance item leader

Additional Basketball Sessions

Posted date: 16th November 2006 (Thursday)

Hi,

As you guys saw from the last session, we had over 25 people with more than 10 people cramming to play on half court, and 5-6 people sitting on the sides. Due to the popularity of the sport, ChiSoc has agreed to book another session, under the condition that we consistently have a turn-out of more than 20 people.

Current bookings under ChiSoc basketball:

Saturdays, *27/Jan, 3/Feb, 10/Feb, 17/Feb, 24/Feb, 3/Mar, 10/Mar, 22:00 - 23:00.

The Kelsey Kerridge Main Hall currently has a free court at the same times.

If you think you'll be interested to play (for people at ALL levels of ability), please do contact me ASAP so I would be able to make the booking to avoid the situation that some people don't get much game time.

Cheers,

Ernest Lau
Captain of Basketball
Cambridge University Chinese Society
