CUC exists to foster communication, understanding and support between Christian groups and between all Christians in Cambridge, and to bear witness to their unity in the worship of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

- What is CUC?
Christians in Unity in Cambridge (CUC) is the umbrella group for the many varied Christian societies that operate within the University of Cambridge, and for individual Christians who may or may not be members of any of these societies. CUC exists to support its individual members and affiliated societies.
CUC also fosters close links with the Deans and Chaplains Association, and seeks to support local churches.
- What does CUC do?
CUC exists to promote support, communication and understanding between student Christians in Cambridge. This is its aim, rather than organising major events – or planning a 'super-merger' of societies. To help realise this aim, CUC does co-ordinate events throughout the year, through which students from the many diverse Christian traditions in Cambridge (or of no Christian background at all) can meet and share in fellowship together. CUC is particularly keen to provide teaching and resources to equip student societies to carry out their own aims, and has organised study days and services to this end. CUC also organises a student service each year in January, during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
CUC is there to encourage individual societies in their own visions, and is also on hand to provide encouragement and advice when a number of societies wish to work together, pursuing a joint vision.
- How can CUC serve you?
Because CUC seeks to be fully involved in the wide range of traditions in the student Christian scene, it can serve as a first point of access into student Christianity. For the student press it is a useful resource of contacts willing to give an alternative range of Christian viewpoints. Members of CUC are also able to provide contacts at short notice who may be able to write on a number of different themes.
- Deans and Chaplains
For Deans and Chaplains, CUC is a valuable link between the colleges and the societies that many Christians belong to. They provide a communications channel for events to be publicised through. CUC is seeking to find ways to provide more support for leaders in the local Church. The fruit of the work CUC does is hopefully shown in the strengthening of the local Churches, and the procedures of CUC in many ways mirror those of the 'Christian Ministry Network' and 'Centre of Cambridge Churches Together' – the alliances of local churches supporting each other's ministries.
The Deans' and Chaplains' website at www.christiancambridge.org, which was developed with input from CUC, has become a useful resource for Christians to draw on. The site features articles by students and more established writers, listings for Christian societies, links and upcoming events. Christian Societies are able to get account details which allow them to post information and publicise activities. For more information you are advised to visit the site.
