Apologies for Absence and Notifications of Any Other Business were given.

The Minutes of Last Meeting were read and Matters Arising dealt with:

• Revelate are happy with the clarification of the SCC's position;
• Carys has not yet written a reply to the letter from CICCU re. Promise, but will do so promptly.

 Society Plans

• SCM (still) winding up;
• SPEAK held a day of action, with a march and silence;
• MethSoc's theme next term: 'Methodist Distinctives';
• Taizé: Br Paolo visited two weeks ago;
• Revelate now have 26 members;
• Fisher House: Pete (old SCC rep.) is now chairman.
  Fisher lectures were held recently;
• CCMS is choosing a new committee and planning a May Week show;
• Ark participated in a service in Arbury, on the theme of love (for Valentine's). They've been invited back, and also invited by CGS.

 Election of Officers

The following nominations for Honorary Officers were made:

• Kelly Hockey for the post of Convenor (1 year).
• Geoff Martin for the post of Treasurer (1 year);
• Chris Rayson for the post of Secretary (1 term);

All were elected by the Council with no objections.

Kelly to shadow Carys as Convenor at the start of Easter Term.

 Termly Services/Fresher's Fair/Other Event/5-a-side football?

Weekly Prayer meetings have lapsed; it has been suggested that instead the SCC organises a termly service. It was noted that:

• Weekday evenings would be a better time than Sundays;
• Some College chapels hold well-attended special services, e.g. Compline, which the SCC might consider combining with. Concern was expressed this would be 'piggy-backing'; a jointly-organised, one-off service might be arranged.

An event was also proposed to replace the SCC Freshers' Fair, which has failed to attract many freshers but has provided a welcome forum for members of Christian societies to meet each other. It was raised that such an event should if possible include the predominant University Christian society, viz CICCU. A discussion of how to advance the SCC/CICCU position followed. Two approaches were outlined:

• SCC Committee members to talk informally to friends involved with the CICCU exec (Kelly has a friend-of-a-friend);
• Simon to talk with UCCF worker.

5-a-side football was quietly forgotten about, again.

It was also agreed:

• That the customary May Week punt race would provide more opportunities for meeting members of different societies if teams were mixed;
• That the Fisher House and MethSoc reps. approach their respective committees regarding organising a joint Ceilidh-esque event in Easter term, to which members of all Christian societies could be invited.

 One World Week Feedback

It had been previously noted that the OWW Religions of the World fair had gone well. Barbara Moss represented Christianity on the discussion panel.

 Any Other Business

Steven Cooper has requested that the SCC fix a date for the 2005 Unity Service, and consider inviting the Archbishop of Canterbury to speak; Steven to be asked to enquire whether the Archbishop would be available on any date during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Provisionally fixed for Tuesday 20^th April 2004, 6:30pm, at 232 Cherry Hinton Road (Kelly's house). Kelly kindly offered to cook dinner.
