CUC exists to foster communication, understanding and support between Christian groups and between all Christians in Cambridge, and to bear witness to their unity in the worship of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

CUC Events

This page is not a comprehensive listing of Christian events in Cambridge; details of many of these can already be found on the Christian Cambridge website. The events below are organised by CUC to further its aim to promote support, communication and understanding between student Christians in Cambridge.

Members of CUC receive a bulletin e-mail containing full details of upcoming CUC-organised events, as well as other events (e.g. those organised by member societies) that may be of interest. The latest bulletin is available here; to join the list, or to submit a relevant article, please contact our Secretary.

CUC Discussion Groups

Lent Term 2006: Following on from last term's successful series of meetings, some further opportunities to find out more about different Christian denominations and other aspects of Christian faith. At each event, the speaker will talk on their chosen topic, and this will be followed by general discussion.

Discussion groups this term:

  • 1st February: Church, State and Establishment
    Speaker: Rev. Dr Stephen Plant, senior tutor of Wesley House and lecturer in theology, ethics, and political theology.
  • 22nd February: TBC
  • 8th March:
    Speaker: Philip Jenson.

All groups meet on Thursdays at 7:45pm, for discussion 8:00–9:30pm, in Fisher House Library (where is Fisher House?), Guildhall Street, and are followed by tea and coffee.

[CUC Logo] Our favourite social event! We'll book in a group at one of the colleges for a mid-term meal, and then probably again as things start to wind/hot up before the vacation.
