About Us
You’re probably wondering what bobbin lace-making is, so here’s a quick (and very simple!) description: it's creating lace using bobbins. It’s really difficult to explain what bobbins are (other than short stick-like things with beads hung on the end) so have a look at the picture below.

Don’t worry; you don’t always need so many bobbins. It depends on what you're making, and you only ever work with 2 pairs at time anyway - phew!
The threads are attached to the bobbins and are crossed and twisted to create the pattern you want. The pins hold the threads in place until you’ve finished the piece and want to remove it from the pillow.
There are loads of different things you can make in lace (bookmarks, tablecloths, paperweights, key rings, even underwear if you really want to...) – have a look at the gallery for inspiration. The lace can be any colour you like and there are hundreds of beautiful patterns to choose from.
Anyway, enough from me for now. Come along and try it for yourself!
