However fun it can be to play Capture the Flag and crush your friends in near-gladiatorial combat, there is something dry about using the same patch of land every. single. time. It would be like reading the same book 1000 times and meticulously analysing every detail from cover to back. That's right. CTF with no variation would be like being an English student. But we have the whole of Cambridge to tear apart with our antics! CTF can happen anywhere! In fields! In suburbs! In heavily portered accommodation blocks!
Over the years, most of local Cambridge has been tried and tested by the Crispys and we have put online details of our favourite CTF sites- both rural and urban. Each one has its own site boundaries and a map that point out important features- like local pubs.
For all CTF boundaries, the Crispy may restrict the playing site to adjust to the number of players, time constraints or if a couple of players are being 'tards and spending too long duelling it out while the remainder of their teams are dead...
Rural CTF
Grasslands, parks and foresty patches. Used throughout the year, especially in Michaelmas to aid new comers. Rural CTF tends to be wide open spaces with no way to escape the gaze of your enemy.

Urban CTF
The suburbs, backstreets and sometimes faculty sites (on weekends). Urban CTF has consists of winding alleys, balconies, choke points and numerous features that make for an amusing game.
(NOTE: Urban CTF disallows the use of tennis balls for reasons that should be pretty obvious)

Other site variants
Wide game CTF
For times when Cambridge simply isn't enough, Wide game is played during holiday time, for a couple of days, and usually takes place faaar outside of Cambridge in exotic places, like near Birmingham. Kind of like a little holiday, expect with guns instead of beach towels and 'the noticeable taste of blood' instead of ice cream.
Indoor CTF
Highly experimental, simply playing indoors. Most weapons would be disallowed.
