The study of history is the playground of patriotism. (George M. Wrong)

About CLIO

CLIO - named after the Greek Muse of History - is the undergraduate history society of the University of Cambridge.

History of the Society

CLIO was founded in December 1996, and has since established a strong reputation for hosting high-profile speaker events involving some of the leading historians from across the world. The society also organises a huge range of social events: the themed feast, instituted in 1999, is perhaps the best known. There are around 300 members currently in Cambridge, most of them history undergraduates.
