Who is this "Clare College Christian Union?"We're a group of Christians from all kinds of backgrounds who are united in our desire to make Jesus Christ known in Clare College. We're one of the college groups of CICCU (Cambridge Intercollegiate Christian Union), which is made up of 25 similar groups. As Christians, we believe that God created people to live in loving relationship with Him, but that we have ignored, and even rebelled against Him. As a result, our just God will punish every wrong we do Him. However, in Jesus Christ, God has offered to pay the price of our disobedience at the cross. If we trust Him to have done this for us, and give up our futile rebellion against God, then we can be assured of eternal life in relationship with God. Knowing this, we can't help but want to make Jesus Christ known to our friends, so that they might enjoy with us that eternal, perfect relationship with God, rather than face God's anger at the way we have treated Him. Therefore, we meet together as a college group on Wednesday evenings to read the Bible (His Word to us), to pray to our Father and to sing in response to His goodness. We also meet at several other points in the week: we all meet together on Friday mornings to spend a bit of time together praying; and most of us also meet in smaller prayer "pairs," "triplets" or "squares" informally at some point in the week. If you are a Christian and are interested in coming along to any or all of the above, email one of the "reps", or , and we can chat about it. Alternatively, if you just want to turn up, have a little look at our events page to see when and where we do stuff. If you aren't a Christian and are interested in seeing what it is that we believe, then have a look at our events page to see if we're putting on anything in college in the near future, or email us ( or ), or go along to one of the university-wide events that happen (like a Friday Lunchtime Talk).
