The annual match between CUCC and the Insurance Cub was held last weekend, and sadly ended in a 3.5-1.5 defeat for the university side, despite a quick win by CUCC president Sean Lip.

I was thinking for a while about whether to move the bishop to f1 or to e2; I couldn't see anything wrong with the latter. Now just hoping to castle quickly and go into the middlegame a safe pawn up.
8...h6 9. Nf3 e4 10. Ng1
White's position looks a bit sad but I'm not sure Black's is much better. The plan now is d3 followed by getting rid of the e4-pawn, then developing KB and KN and castling
10...Bd6 11. d3 O-O 12. Be3
f2 was weak so I gave it some extra protection just in case
12...Re8 13. dxe4 Nxe4 14. Nf3 Bg4 15. Nbd2 Qe7? 16. Nxe4 1-0
The bishop on d6 hangs after Black takes the knight. This game took about 25 mins per player.
