SUMMARY OF MINUTES FROM MEETING ON 23/10/06
| Present: | | Brian Lavery,
Rob Petit, Kirsty Dootson,
Lydia Bell |
Apologies: | | Chris Chau, Bella Wing-Davey |
- Society Officers
We interviewed two candidates for the position of
Secretary and will interview the third on Wednesday before making a final decision.
- Sponsorship
Newly started company studentbeans.com contacted us to
ask if we would be interested in sponsorship from them in exchange for some publicity.
Brian will email to ask them for more details.
- Newspaper Articles
§ Varsity Rob has drafted an article for
Varsity and emailed it out to the committee. We will all read it and respond with any
comments.
§ TCS TCS will meet with us to interview us
later this week.
- Accounts
§ Brian will prepare a summary of all accounts from this
term so far and will ascertain when Chris will be returning to Cambridge.
§ Meg has responded to our emails, saying that she is away
but can send what information she has when she returns. Lydia will liaise with her.
§ When Brian obtains the cheque book (currently delayed
due to address-checking) and control over the account, we will close the account
immediately and open a new account at a mainstream bank that has a branch in the centre
of town.
- Constitution
Lydia will redraft the Constitution, making some amendments,
and email it out to the committee.
- Freshers' 48-hour Competition
Kirsty will meet with Jenny later this week to discuss obtaining prizes for the 48-hour
competition. Fopp is no longer a viable option for this, owing to changes in how they manage
things.
- Cinecam Film
§ We have obtained a copy of the Cinecam film, 'Change the World',
commissioned in February. The committee will watch it together at the first available opportunity.
§ Owing to the time and trouble it has taken to retrieve our copy,
it was suggested that, from now on, expenses incurred in the production of the Cinecam film only be
refunded retrospectively - on production of the finished reel.
§ We still have no statement of the accounts pertaining to production
of the film. Meg should be able to provide these.
