SUMMARY OF MINUTES FROM FINANCE MEETING ON 13/11/06
| Present: | | Brian Lavery, Rob Petit,
Chris Chau, Lydia Bell |
- Funding
§ Societies Syndicate Chris has looked through details of funding from the Societies Syndicate and reported
that we should be eligible for grants in two categories - 'Grants for the purchase of
an item of capital equipment' and 'Annual Grants'. To apply for these, we need to
satisfy 4 criteria, as outlined in the leaflet 'Societies Syndicate: Notes of Advice to
Applicants'.
§ Requirements Work will be required to
satisfy the last two criteria:
(iii) 'provide the most recent annual accounts (signed by the responsible officers, including
the Senior Treasurer) and an up-to-date statement of the society's financial position,
including a statement of assets and liabilities, and details of income from all sources.
A statement of current numbers of members and of subscription rates should also be given'
(iv) 'present a lucid statement of the need for assistance and a clear outline of
what exactly is required. The costs of the items to be purchased should be clearly stated.'
§ Timescale Owing to the time that will be required to arrange
these things, we agreed to apply for funding at the next but one deadline on 25th January.
- Bank Account
§ Brian rang the Norwich
and Peterborough Building Society but they could find no record of our account connected
with his name. Brian will visit the bank in person tomorrow to see if this can be sorted
out.
§ Meg estimated in June that this
account had £900 in it.
- Accounts Information
Chris is currently setting in order the accounts for this term. He will calculate
the following. We need to provide him with additional information where it is noted:
§ Takings at Josh's Talk
§ Takings at Rob's Talk
§ Takings for 48-hour Entry
§ Cost of tapes for 48-hour
§ Membership Takings He needs
a complete membership list, along with our takings from membership, so that
these can be compared to our total takings this term.
§ T-shirts He needs to confirm with Bella
how much she spent on T-shirts and whether she has been fully refunded by Cinecam.
- Cinecam Debts
We owe money as follows:
§ Brian £215
§ Henry Lau £495
§ Tom Bishop £9.36? (Lydia will check this.)
§ Matt Scarisbrick (This is for lighting for
the Cinecam film. Brian will email Anthony Hinton to ascertain how much we owe and to
ask for receipts.)
