- Scriptwriting Competition
Meg Blight will be executive producer of the Cinecam film and will arrange
interviews with prospective directors and producers.
- Tuesday Film Evenings
A selection of music videos and shorts will be shown at the screening on 7th
February.
- Festival
§ Keynes Hall, King's has been booked for Vicki
Jung's scriptwriting talk on 11th March.
§ Apple mac will be donating a video iPod as a
prize for the 'Best Film' of the festival. The festival will be extended to include
two more talks - one by Josh Newman, on advanced filmmaking (preproduction and
storyboarding), on 9th March - and one by a representative from Apple, topic tbc,
on 10th March.
§ Decided that posters for the festival will
be black and white, and will mainly advertise for people to enter their films into
the festival. Flyers will be black and white, glossy including a timetable of
festival events.
§ It was suggested that there should be a very
simple publicity questionnaire for people to fill in as they enter the festival
so that we can help the next committee plan their publicity better and raise
awareness about Cinecam.
§ Atta Chui's film, which is one hour long,
cannot be shown at the festival but will be handed on to the next committee to
screen at some point in Easter term, possibly at the same time as the Cinecam film.
- Editing Facilities
We need to demonstrate to the Cambridge
University Computing Service that computers with editing software would
be used by Cinecam, CUSP and Italian Society members. Therefore we need
to organise another event with Apple in which they lend us computers
for a weekend and we would have people log how long they use the
computers for. This is working towards a computer with editing software
for members' use being set up in the Balfour room on the New Museum Site.
- Lighting Equipment
Decided that there can be no commitment of funds for lighting equipment until
after the Festival in March, at which point we will have a better idea of Cinecam's
financial situation.
- Website
§ Decided that the 'News' section will be removed and that membership details need
to be updated.
§ The Festival section will be expanded to include
pages for 'Sponsors' and 'Prizes', with links to Apple, Fopp and Borders.
- AGM
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 14th March, 2006.
Manifestos can be emailed to Lucia by midnight the day before and members
can vote either at the AGM directly or via email by midnight on 14th March.
