SUMMARY OF MINUTES FROM MEETING ON 01/10/06

- Freshers' Fair
§ Cambridge Filmmakers Network and Vertigo have asked if they
could put fliers on our stall and we have agreed.
§ Brian will make a shift rota and send it out by e-mail.
- Term Schedule
§ Josh's Talks Josh will give his first talk on Sunday
22nd October (perhaps around 3pm?) and his second on Friday 17th November (around 7pm?). Brian is
trying to book rooms for these in King's.
§ 48-hour competitions There will be two of these. We
agreed to hold the Freshers Competition from 7pm 27th October to 7pm 29th October, probably
running a short class before the start, to instruct people who are unfamiliar with the cameras.
The second 48-hour competition will be open to anyone and will be help from the 17th of November
to the 19th November, starting directly after Josh's second talk.
§ Squash We have booked 4a Trumpington Street in the
History of Art Department from 3pm on Monday 9th October. The squash will be from 4pm.
§ Directing Actors Workshop This will be on Sunday 26th
November (around 3pm?). Brian is trying to book a room in King's for this; we also need to finalise
the time.
- Weekly Film Screenings
§ Kirsty will ask Maria from Lightbox Films if they would like
to collaborate for these again.
§ We have a German film, 'Requiem', to show in October.
- Publicity
§ We will send our termcard to TCS and Varsity for publication
in their film sections.
§ The Graduate Union film society have offered to
show Cinecam shorts before the main feature films at their screenings. We could also
ask College film societies, such as John's Films or Caius Films, whether they
might be interested in doing something similar.
- College Reps and Society Officers
We will email the list inviting people to apply for the vacant positions (in particular,
Secretary, Technical Officer and Co-Festival Manager) once the squash is over and we have
established the new membership. There has already been some interest in the Festival Manager
position.
- Accounts and the Cinecam Film
Brian has emailed Meg and Anthony Hinton respectively and is waiting to hear back from them.
