We warmly invite you to the screening of „The Unbearable Lightness of Being“ on Saturday, 3rd of November, at 7:30 pm in Winstanley Lecture Theatre at Trinity College.

It is the star cast adaptation of the famous novel by Milan Kundera, one of the most renowned Central European authors, starring Daniel Day Lewis, Juliette Binoche, Lina Olin and Derek de Lint, and directed by Philip Kaufman (1988, 110 min).

As a follow-up to the screening of „The Unbearable Lightness of Being“, we will meet again on Friday, 9th of November in Magdalene College (details to be confirmed), to talk about our reactions to the story told in the film, the characters, the relationships between them, the choices they make, the way in which history enters their lifes, their attitudes to sex, politics and emigration. We shall also touch upon the issues of Kundera's novel itself and the relation between the novel and its film adaptation.
