Society Meeting
Date: Wednesday 2 May 2007
Venue: Baron of Beef/The Mitre
In early May, the nightmare-month of all students, the society held a pub meet, simply to do something different from studying and worrying about exams. Although the original plan was to go the Baron of Beef on Bridge Street, the place was so crowded that we ended up in the neighboring The Mitre.
Apart from getting a break from exams, the underlying theme was firstly, to celebrate some of the many national holidays happening around the date, and secondly, to introduce the new committee. The attendance was surpringly high, given the timing, and some of us even managed to meet new people. The conversations, covering a wide range of topics, were held in several different languages, but unusually often in English. We hope everyone who turned up enjoyed the night. Good luck for the Exams and watch out for CUCES events around the May Week.
