Organ Scholarships
The two Organ Scholars play an important role in the life of the Chapel and College.
The Senior Organ Scholar co-ordinates and arranges the Choir and music for services in
the College Chapel. S/he is responsible to and works in conjunction with the Chaplain
and Precentor, who have charge of the Chapel, and is assisted by the Junior Organ Scholar.

Applications for these must be made on the white form before the beginning of September in the year before you plan to come up, in other words, six weeks before the deadline for the blue application form. An Organ applicant who is accepted then has no more interviews. An unsuccessful applicant will not be disadvantaged in his or her chance of an academic place. Make sure that you get your white application form from the Admissions Office in good time.

Instrumental Awards
Auditions for Instrumental Awards are held in the late summer of the same year in which you hope to come up, that is, after you hear the results of your summer examinations. Applications, only from those who have been made a conditional or unconditional offer, must be in by the end of February. You will then be informed of the audition programme. You will only be called for audition if you have a firm offer of a place in that year. Do not forget to tick the box on the front of the blue application form when you apply in October to indicate that you wish to receive instrumental details in January.
Choral Scholarships
Choral exhibitioners are elected to sing at Sunday services in Chapel, one weekday service and at special services arising from time to time. Currently these services are on Sundays Holy Communion and Evensong, and Evensong on Wednesdays. Exhibitioners must also be present at rehearsals, currently held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Exhibitioners are elected for their full three years of undergraduate study, and are awarded £100 per year, with singing lessons paid for by the College (4 per term).
The Choir is augmented by volunteers from the College and University who also receive free singing lessons.
Applications for these must be made on the white form before the beginning of September in the year before you plan to come up, in other words, six weeks before the deadline for the blue application form. A Choral applicant who is successful must still have academic interviews in December. An unsuccessful choral applicant will not be disadvantaged in his or her chance of an academic place. Make sure that you get your white application form from the Admissions Office in good time.
