CHORAL EXHIBITIONERS
Choral exhibitioners are elected to sing at Sunday services in Chapel, one weekday service and at special services arising from time to time. Currently these services are: on Sundays Holy Communion and Evensong, and Evensong on Wednesdays. Exhibitioners must also be present at rehearsals, currently held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Exhibitioners are elected for their full three years of undergraduate study, and are awarded £100 per year, with singing lessons paid for by the College (4 per term).
The Choir is augmented by vulunteers from the College and University who receive free singing lessons.
Applications for Choral Awards
Applications for these must be made on the white form before the beginning of September in the year before you plan to come up, in other words, six weeks before the deadline for the blue application form. A Choral applicant who is successful must still have academic interviews in December. An unsuccessful choral applicant will not be disadvantaged in his or her chance of an academic place. Make sure that you get your white application form from the Admissions Office in good time. |
