Week 6 - Prayer Meeting (Shorterned Meeting)

Dear brothers and sisters,

2 Corinthians 12:9
(Jesus said,)"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

While we all think we don't have enough wisdom to deal with exams, projects and work, Jesus once again reassures us HIS grace is sufficient. So let us have faith in Him and never give up.

We'll be having a prayer meeting this Wednesday at Joshua, when we shall be praying for each other's need. Do come and join us for an hour of worship and prayers, and gain strength from our Lord in this stressful time.

***********************
Dinner will be served at 6.30pm as usual. Just as last week, dinner will be provided by our church fellow with fairly precise amount of food. If you haven't signed up for it on the seperate form, and you still want to come for dinner, please let me know (wkjs3@cam.ac.uk) and we'll try to organise something for you, though we cannot guarantee anything. Thanks very much.

To encourage you all to carry on coming to Joshua in this stressful period, we will be having SHORTENED MEETINGS for 3 consecutive weeks from this Wednesday onwards. Dinner will still start at 6.30pm, but the main program will end at 8.30pm, and you are free to get back to your EXCITING work.

This week, we will have an hour of Singspiration, where we will sing hymns and songs to praise our Lord, who gives us the WISDOM to come to Cambridge, AND graduate at Cambridge!

1. Conclusive Talk on FAITH by Pastor Komee

Hebrews 11:6
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

After all the Bible Studies, talks and activities on the topic of faith, I guess I don't have to remind you what our year theme is! Time flies, and it is almost the end of this academic year. We are please to have Pastor Komee to give us a conclusive talk on FAITH this Wednesday. It will surely give us a nice summary of what we have learnt this year and encourage all of us continue to "Grow In Faith"!

Week 2 - Bible Study on Moses

Dearest brothers and sisters,

Deuteronomy 34:10
"Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face."

In the Old Testament of the Bible, Moses and Elijah are no doubt the biggest prophets with immense faith in God. Last term, we have done the Bible study on Elijah, and this week, we are going to look at Moses, a prophet "whom the Lord knew fact to face"! The Bible passage we will focus on are Exodus 32:7-12 and Numbers 14:1-19. Do come and find out how Moses served God faithfully.

The following are the links to the Bible Passages:

English (New International Version)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2032%20;&version=31;
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers%2014;&version=31;

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2032%20;&version=22;
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers%2014;&version=22;

Please do spend some time reading the passage before our meeting on Wednesday, and we will learn more about Moses together in the form of thoughts exchange and sharing.
