Week 7 - Bible Study: Elijah (Amended Ver.)

Dearest brothers and sisters,

1. Bible Study on Elijah
2. JF Winter Camp 2007

-------------------------
1. Bible Study on Elijah

I Kings 17:14 " For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.' "

Still remember Elijah's story with the poor widow, or his victorious defeat over the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel? Let us refresh our memories of Elijah's faith in this week's bible study. We will focus our efforts in studying passages in the bible about Elijah, focusing in particular 1 Kings 17-18.

The following are links to the bible passage:

English (New International Version):-
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20kings%2017-18&version=31

Chinese (Traditional Chinese Union Version):-
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20kings%2017-18;&version=22;

Please do spend some time reading the passage again before our meeting on wednesday, and we will learn more about Elijah together in the form of thoughts exchange and sharing =) Guaranteed to be inspiring!

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Do you think you know God's will for you? Do you want to know how to seek God's will in situations such as looking for the right job, right internship or the perfect lover? Is it possible to interpret God's will through signs or even miracles? No matter what sort of doubts you have, do join in our discussion this week with our dear Pastor Wong (aka. Uncle Alan) in how to seek God's will!

2. Actors and Actressed needed for Christmas Evangeslistic Concert!

Once again we are collaborating this Christmas with our dear bros and sis at CF to organise a Christmas Evangelistic Concert before the end of term, and we need your help! Below is a message from our dear sis at CF and I do hope many of you would join in this fun and meaningful event! =)

"Dear all,

The script for the skit that will be put up that the Christmas evangelistic concert is out! We are casting for actors/actresses now. Should you be interested in acting, please contact me at ylal2@cam.ac.uk and I will gladly send you an excerpt from the script. Auditions for actors and actresses will be held on Monday (6 November) at 6 pm at the HMH (that's before cf). Rehearsals will take twice a week, abt 2 hours per session. The actual event will be held on the last week of term.

Thanks!

Agnes"

Hope all of you are staying cheery against the Week 5 blues, and remember to take care and wear more clothes as the weather gets colder! ;)
