Week 7 - Bible Study 4 (Acts 20)
Dear brothers and sisters,
Please see below some announcements and reminders for this week:
1. Cell group gathering
2. SEEC deadline
3. Potential new committee informal dinner
4. Talk - A Biblical View on the Recent Charismatic Movement
5. An interesting conversation to share...
1. Bible Study 4 (Acts 20)
In the coming meeting we will embark on the last bible study in the term, covering whole of Acts 20.
It is pretty short compared to before and you are strongly recommended to read through the passage once beforehand.
If you come across anything that you don't really understand or something you want to discuss within your group, prepare the questions beforehand and raise in your group for better understanding of the passage.
As an example, part of Paul's speech was worth thinking:
"I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
- are we ready like Paul, to take up Jesus' cross and give in our lives for the 'race' and 'task' Jesus has given us?
*** DINNER *** (DIFFERENT FROM what's on the TERM CARD)
Cherry's group will be cooking dinner this week. Anyone who can come to help with cooking and/or washing up, please let Cherry (cww24@cam.ac.uk) know and arrive at Henry Martyn Hall at 5:30pm.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE email jfdinner@yahoo.co.uk if you are not on default list but would like to have dinner (with subject: I would like to join for dinner this Wednesday!). This is essential as we need to prepare enough food for everybody.

3. Potential new committee informal dinner
As mentioned in the last email sent out by Benny, we'll be electing our new committes for JF next year on 12th March(Sunday). We are holding an informal dinner this Sunday evening to talk about the positions available and their corresponding responsibilities. The existing committees will also share about their very own experience in serving JF - want to know why they decided to become committee members and how God has worked in their lives since then? Come and find out!
You are under no obligation to join as a new committee through attending this informal dinner so even if you have not decided whether to join as new committees you are very welcome to come and find out more. Please continue to pray about this if you are not sure yet - you need to be a Christian to join but you do not need to be 'particularly spiritual' (a common misunderstanding towards serving in a fellowship). Personally, I learnt a lot more about God through serving in the committee and He has been refining me like a potter moulding the clay and a silversmith purifying silver - a wonderful experience!
Anyways if you are interested in coming on Sunday please let Benny (Email: Benny.Lo@cantab.net; Tel: 07795 958110) know.

5. An interesting conversation to share...
A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."
Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know ? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"
The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing...
I know my Master is there and that is enough."

Helen
