An Early Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Dear brothers and sisters,

I hope you enjoyed 'A Christmas Evening' on Thursday as much as I did, and be reminded of the underlying meaning of Christmas - God's unconditional love for us.

Applause to everyone who helped in the concert - the organisers, the directors, actors, actresses, musicians, choir members, singers, sound + light crews and the ushers - without your help the concert wouldn't have been able to run so smoothly!

Also, many thanks to you, you and all of you who made such delicious cookies on Wednesday for the evening - everyone loved it and we could feel your care and support =) I hope you all had a great time making them too!

So soon we have reached the end of term, and we'll take a pause from our regular meetings in the Christmas vacation until the beginning of next term. Processing of photos from the cookies-making meeting and the Christmas Evening is underway and we'll let you know as soon as they are live on our website.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a warm + delightful time with your family and friends, wherever you're going to be. When Christmas approaches, remember what it truly means and spend it meaningfully =)

In Christ,
Helen

P.S. We know that having minced pies (christmas pies) is a long-lasting tradition in Britain
Do you know what its origin is? Quoting from the website below:

The Christmas pie came about at the time when the Crusaders were returning from the Holy Land. They brought home a variety of oriental spices. It was important to add three spices (cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg) for the three gifts given to the Christ child by the Magi. In honor of the birth of the Savior, the mince pie was originally made in an oblong casings (coffin or cradle shaped), with a place for the Christ Child to be placed on top. The baby was removed by the children and the manger (pie) was eaten in celebration.
