What is a raid?

A RAG raid is our fancy term for a street collection. As a RAG raider you stand in the street (in a funny costume if it tickles your fancy), lure passers by towards you with a fleeting glance or with promises of candy and funny stories, and then ask them for money. Aside from the glamour and stardom, raiding is also an extremely rewarding experience. The money you raise is raised by you and you alone, and it isn't uncommon for individuals to raise hundreds, or even thousands, of pounds over a not too long period of time, all of which goes towards a host of great causes. We can never have too many raiders, and we usually don't have as many as we would like, so please come and help out, if only for a short amout of time. You won't regret it.
